Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Specialist will be working with all levels of the organization along with external personnel such as insurance brokers and benefit providers. This position provides the opportunity to have a large impact on our customers by recommending product enhancements to our payroll/HRIS product.
- Provides HR support to the organization by responding to employee questions related to benefits, established HR policies/ procedures, employment laws, and personnel information.
- Coordinates benefits administration working with insurance brokers, providers, and employees regarding all aspects of the benefits programs including communications, policy changes, invoice reconciliation, enrollments, COBRA, 401(k), leave of absences, and legal compliance.
- Supports staffing group by handling new hire letters, orientation packets, background checks, and other related administrative tasks.
- Updates and maintain personnel information in HRIS, various accounting and benefit providers' reports, employment verifications, and government compliance.
- Ensures a high level of system wide data integrity and accuracy by conducting regular audits.
- Conducts new employee orientation and benefits open enrollment meetings.
- Maintains confidential employee files
- Performs administrative support tasks related to HR programs/projects as required.
Requirements:
- College degree plus 3 years work experience or two year degree with a minimum of 5 years work experience.
- Experience must encompass areas of HR with focus on benefits administration and administrative recruiting duties.
- Experience working in a high tech industry a plus
- Familiar with benefits, employment and HR laws and regulations
- Organized, efficient and attentive to detail - high level of accuracy required
- Good common sense with innovative thinking and problem solving abilities
- Tactful and friendly with strong customer service orientation
- Able to handle confidential information with exceptional discretion
- Strong computer and systems skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong work ethic, team player, and positive attitude
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with all levels of employees
- Sense of humor
