Leveraging the SuiteFlex Development Platform, ChannelAdvisor Develops Industry Specific Software Application to Meet the Needs of the Top Internet Retailers
San Mateo, Calif. and Research Triangle Park, N.C. — October 25, 2007 — ChannelAdvisor, the leading provider of e-commerce channel management solutions, today announced that it has become a partner of NetSuite's SuiteFlex Developer Program. ChannelAdvisor has extended NetSuite's One System Architecture with new capabilities to help meet the needs of the top Internet retailers. The SuiteFlex Development allows third party applications to integrate rich transaction data — orders, inventory, invoices and shipments — with their applications, and enable customers and third-party developers to build new workflows and applications that can look and operate as if NetSuite's own developers wrote them.
Because NetSuite holds critical business data of a company — orders, invoices, Web site transactions, shipping records, time tracking and payroll data — the applications that are built on it using SuiteFlex provide key tools for managing the company's business. For example, with the ChannelAdvisor Complete platform, inventory data can be pulled from NetSuite and retailers are able to efficiently manage and market their inventory across the top e-commerce marketplaces such as eBay and comparison shopping engines such as Google Product Search. ChannelAdvisor Complete then feeds the orders back to NetSuite for fulfillment.
The ChannelAdvisor Complete platform provides technology and services that enables leading online retailers to improve profits across multiple e-commerce marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon.com and Overstock.com, comparison shopping engines such as Shopping.com, Shopzilla, Nextag and Google Product Search and search engines such as Google, Yahoo! and MSN.
"ChannelAdvisor provides retailers with the best solutions to sell their products on multiple e-commerce marketplaces, comparison shopping engines and search engines," says Scot Wingo, CEO of ChannelAdvisor. "By working with NetSuite, we can provide joint customers reliable real-time connectivity and a robust on-demand fully integrated solution."
About SuiteFlex and NetSuite's SuiteFlex Developer Program
SuiteFlex is an application development platform that enables the creation of third-party vertical applications within NetSuite, as well as business process customisation for any end-user company. SuiteFlex includes several industry technology advances and innovations including additions to SuiteScript — which allows for on demand programming using only a web browser on a device with Internet access. As a part of SuiteScript, NetSuite introduced Suitelets and SuiteScript UI Objects, allowing customers and third-party developers to build new workflows and applications that can look and operate as if NetSuite's own developers wrote them. In addition, SuiteFlex introduces a dramatic new concept for the Software as a Service market — "Service as Software," SuiteBundler — to deliver new integrated vertical solutions by packaging their Suitelets and other extensions with NetSuite's core ERP/CRM/Ecommerce application. SuiteBundler enables solution providers to embed their industry-best practices, knowledge and applications — traditionally delivered as one-off services — into the actual NetSuite application for verticals in a repeatable fashion.
NetSuite's SuiteFlex Developer Program is established to help solution providers achieve success in vertical markets by bringing them the following:
